What is 4-Color Process Printing
- The demand and competition in the printing industry are very high thus it is important to be able to cope with the standards of the society. Aside from meeting the standards, it is evident that colorful image is a good eye-catching tool to get the attention and leave an impression more importantly in the business sector or in print ads industry.
- There is a technology that is being utilized in the graphic arts and commercial printing industry nowadays for the reproduction of colored images and text. This is called a 4-Color Process Printing. In the printing industry, they call it CMYK process printing. This process uses the four ink colors that are being commonly used, the CMYK colors. C stands for Cyan or what we can see as blue in the common sight. M stands for Magenta, which is nearer to a shade of purple. Y stands for yellow and K for black. The 4-Color Process printing uses the same four standardized base colors all the time in printing services such as offset printing and digital printing. These colors once placed on respective plates, are overlapping each other and create mixtures to achieve and produce the full color during the process that is why it is also called Full Color Printing. It uses a procedure which gives an amazing result for it can reproduce thousands of colors in various concentrations. But there is also a very small percentage of its inability to reproduce some colors.
- In the commercial industries, mostly in the printing and print ads industry, this 4-Color Process printing has been most known as widely used and considered as a cost-effective color system in commercial printing without the need to sacrifice its quality.

- There are other color printing procedures but this 4-Color process printing is the most widely and commonly used not only because it is cost effective but because it gives a more vivid result compared to other procedures. Even on the vehicles, you can see so many printed materials produced by this process, there are so many projects that this process has made to life by its vivid result.
- It is good to note that despite the emerging of new technologies, this process still stands out and is still being utilized.
